Week 8: Budget Assignment
Taco Salad/Walking Taco
Ingredients
Ground beef
Romaine
Corn
Sour Cream
Water
Salt
Pepper
Paprika
Chili powder
Cumin
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Process
First, I cooked the ground beef on medium high heat. Then I drained the fat from the skillet into a can. After that I added in about 1 cup of water. Next I added all of my seasonings and stirred the meat until it was well mixed together. From there, I roughly chopped some romaine. I microwaved the corn and drained it. Then I put a couple scoops of the taco meat into the bowl. I mixed in a scoop of sour cream and stirred it. Then I added the Doritos and broke them apart with a fork. Then I added the lettuce and corn.
Reflection
This week I decided to make a fun recipe that isn't very healthy. I know its not the best for me and a little weird but I really enjoy the flavors for some reason. This was my first time making it without using a taco seasoning so I looked up a recipe and found one on Allrecipes. I didn't include the oregano or red pepper flakes. This recipe probably takes about ten minutes to make. For this reason, I like to make it when I have a busy weekend and need something quick. It also is pretty cheap since I often have all of the seasonings and sour cream in my pantry.
