This week I made stir fried broccoli with noodles, the recipe is my own.
First, I brought a small pot of water to a boil and then added a handful of noodles that I broke in half.
Then, I sautéed 1/4c of broccoli in some butter and garlic 1 teaspoon of garlic salt
Finally, when both the noodles and broccoli were completely cooked through I added them together and sprinkled some more of the garlic salt on top

1. I picked these essential pantry items to review the price on because I feel that they are vary versatile and commonly used in my day to day life. All of these ingredients can be used in many different kinds of foods that I make daily. When purchasing the McCormick garlic salt I saved money on a smaller size.
2. In the recipe I used 1 teaspoon of garlic powder which is equal to about 1 cent of the total bottle that I purchased. This pantry item will affect the total cost of future meals by being cost affective and worth the money I payed for it.
3. A pantry staple is an item that you use every day multiple times a day in many different ways. The benefit from maintaining a personal home food pantry is that you can become comfortable with. variety of foods that you know how to cook in many different ways.
4. I was surprised by the varying prices for generic brands that the stores themselves offered, this made me curious about how they decide to price their own brands of food and how they have the resources to do so. This exercise proabbooy won't affect my future shopping habits.
5. I think that building and expanding my personal food pantry would be worthwhile because then I can become comfortable with some new items that I can add into current recipes or even new recipes. I think that its good to stay open to change and new ways of doing things so that you can grow as a persona nd become even healthier. In over to accomplish this goal I think I would need to be more comfortable in the kitchen in general so that I know how to use what I want to add.
