Recipe
1 box of fettuccine pasta
2 cloves of garlic
1/4 of an onion
1 tsp of basil
Salt and pepper to taste
2-3 tablespoon Olive oil to coat the pan
2-3 diced large Roma tomato

Cook the pasta in a boiling pot of salted water. In order to know that your pasta is done, you'll have to taste it. When the texture feels al dente or right for you, strain it and run it through cold water. To the pasta sauce pour the olive oil into the pan or pot with the minced garlic and diced onions. Sweat the onions and garlic until translucent. Then put the diced tomatoes into the pot or pan. Cooked until it is reduced into a sauce. Put the pasta into the pot and mix with the sauce.

  • I think with these items I am able to make many types of meals and snacks with. From chicken broth. Pasta with the salmon and just a snack with the greek yogurt.
  • I did save money a few cents.
2.

  • I used the whole box of fettuccine which was $1.38. The other things I used were already in my house since I live at home. I did buy multiple boxes so if there is a time that I need a hearty meal I could cook pasta up and combine it with something.

  • I think a pantry stable in my family would be rice. It is a staple for my family since we basically eat it with every meal. The benefits are that in a situation that you need to cook something fast and do not have time to go to the store you are able to go into your pantry find ingredients and make a dish out of it.

  • Not really surprised about anything in the exercise because I knew there were places that had cheaper items than the other. It was just a hassle to travel to different stores.

  • 100% it is a worthwhile goal. To accomplish this I think I would need to buy more dried foods or spices/seasonings.
