This week, I chose to make one of my favorites food -- steaks
Ingredients:
1) Two new york strip steak
2)pink sea salt
3)black pepper
4)grapeseed oil
5)butter
6)rosemary
Steps:
Use paper towels to absorb the water from the surface of the steaks, heat the pan up until the pan starts to smoke. Pour a little bit of grapeseed oil on the pan, then fry the two sides of the steaks, then the other four sides. Keep frying the steaks until the surface turns burnt-brown. Melt a tablespoon of the butter with rosemary, keep pouring the butter on the steaks for 5 minutes. Then it will be done.
reflection:
Eating beef originally came from Europe in middle-century. Pork, lamb is the normal food for normal people, the beef is high-grade meat for the royals and nobles.
Steaks became America's favorite meat item in the middle century. Today, the united states is the largest consumer of beef. This is not the first time for me to make steaks, but because I didn't put enough butter on the pan, so I had to take the steaks out in case it will get burnt. And just because that, the beef is not fully cooked, it shows light purple color in the middle of the meat, which means the meat is still raw. Next time, I need to do better on calculation the amount of seasonings I will use, and calculate the time of cooking. But overall, the butter and rosemary gave the steaks rich in flavor, and the sea salt and black pepper blend out the original beef taste.
