2 pounds baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste

Summarize what you found and answer the following questions:
Did you find significant differences?  If so, what were they?
I compared prices at the local corner store near my parents' house (Guse Green Grocer) and the large Cub that is nearby as well. One significant thing I found was the shrimp. This is likely because meat prices tends to fluctuate in differences between a small store and a large store, which is accurate in this case. I also found that there was a significant difference between the name brand butter at the corner store and the store brand butter at Cub.

Were you surprised by anything?
I was surprised by the similarities in price of the spices at the two stores. In my head, I figured that there would be quite a big difference between the two, but in reality there was less than a $.15 difference the two. I don't go through spices very often, but this is a good thing for me to remember.

Will this influence your shopping in the future?
I think that this will especially influence my shopping when it comes to meat, as the bigger store had the cheaper price. While I am going to try to reduce my meat consumption, I think that this will be my strategy when I do buy meat. This is definitely something I will keep in mind in the future.

Did you save any money?  If so, how?
I did save a little money, but actually not as much as I was anticipating. I think that this is a good thing because I typically like to shop at small businesses. I think that in the future, I would like to shop at a mix between small and large stores, so I support local businesses while also saving some money. With all of the ingredients for both recipes, I would have saved $5.36, which can be very significant if purchasing groceries often.

Garlic Butter Sauteed Shrimp

1. Defrost shrimp and completely pat dry.  Devein the shrimp and remove the tail, optional.
2. Combine the ingredients for the seasoning: the Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and paprika.

3. In a bowl, coat the shrimp with the seasoning and mix well.

4. In a skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter and garlic, stirring frequently.
5. Add shrimp and cook 2-3 minutes per side.

6.Remove from heat and drizzle freshly squeezed lemon, mix to combine.

Overall, I was very happy with this recipe. I cannot attest to how healthy this recipe is, since it uses quite a lot of butter, but it did turn out very tasty. I feel as though this is a type of recipe that could be a dish at a restaurant, so it was interesting to see how it would turn out. I think that the butter, garlic, and lemon all complemented each other quite well. This was also my first time cooking with shrimp, so I was happy that I created an end result that I think tastes good. In the future, I think I will experiment with other ways to prepare shrimp. One type I really like is coconut shrimp, so I may try that next.
