Assignment week 10

TZATZIKI SAUCE
This week I decided to make a yummy greek-style dip/sauce. It's a yogurt-based sauce that has no complexity, and since this week is being really busy, I thought it'd be appropriate to make this and use it to dip healthy snacks.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 tbsp Whole milk organic yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, finely diced
- 2 tbsp of red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp EVOO
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of pepper
- Cilantro (optional)
- Garlic powder (optional)
PROCESS
In a small bowl, I added the yogurt. Then, I combined the cucumber, vinegar, EVOO, and the rest of the ingredients. I like the sauce to be more liquidy, so you might want to add just a bit of water to do that. I mixed all the ingredients and tasted it. If needed, rectify with salt or vinegar.

People tend to buy this sauce so it's ready to use. I believe that it's a quick recipe, and also very cheap since you're not using many ingredients, so you can definitely make it yourself. You can use this sauce to make potato salad, egg salad, use it as a spread for sandwiches (instead of mayo), dip veggies in it, etc. I ate it with some carrots and some toast.
Typically, I'd use mint instead of cilantro, but that was the only fresh herb in my pantry. Still it was really good. I love cooking with yogurt, especially to use it as a substitute for mayo, heavy cream, etc.
