Wk6 -- Quinoa Bowls

This week I made Quinoa Bowls.
The recipe source is https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/blt-quinoa-bowls/

Ingredients:
1 cup quinoa
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 eggs
8 ounces tomatoes
3 cups fresh spinach
4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Steps to make it:
1. Cook the quinoa and add 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and lemon juice, stir and combine.
2. Place 2-3 in. of water in a large skillet with high sides; add remaining vinegar. Bring to a boil; adjust heat to maintain a gentle simmer. Break 1 cold egg at a time into a small cup; holding cup close to surface of water, slip egg into water. Cook, uncovered, until whites are completely set and yolks begin to thicken but are not hard, 3-5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, lift eggs out of water. Keep warm.
3. In a large skillet, heat remaining oil over medium heat. Cook tomatoes until they begin to release their juices, 8-10 minutes. Stir 1-2 minutes.
4. To serve, divide quinoa evenly among 4 bowls. Add tomatoes, spinach and crumbled bacon. Top each with a poached egg.

This Bacon Quinoa Eggs Salad Recipe is rather easy to make and is packed with so many healthy ingredients. Quinoa with fresh tomatoes, bacon, and eggs, which is a tasty and healthy dish. You can finish it in 35 minutes including 15 minutes of preparation and 20 minutes of cooking. This is a great hearty meal that was well-received by all ages. Quinoa is not the same as ordinary carbohydrate food. It does not contain a lot of starch, cholesterol and fat. It can protect the heart and brain blood vessels, which is also suitable for people who are losing weight. When I eat something particularly greasy, I will make myself a healthy salad the next day. I am satisfied with the dish I cooked today.

How I incorporated the weekly technique:
When I make this dish, I need to cut some food. And I learned how to use knives to cut round food in class. Take tomatoes for example, I cut them in half first to create a flat surface, which makes it easier to slice. Then I place tomatoes on the chopping board and cut them into pieces with a knife. The technique of slicing is that using a sawing motion when slicing through foods, don't push up and down. Keep the tip of the knife on the surface of the cutting board and lift the handle up and down with a repetitive front-to-back sawing motion.
