This is a very easy dish to cook. But the bamboo shoots are difficult to get. I usually buy some bamboo shoots from a Chinese store, Shuang Hur. They have packaged bamboo shoots and maybe have a little bit of flavor added. My family does not cook bamboo shoots very often. Braising:

- Soy sauce
- Black pepper powder
- 13-spices
- Salt
- chicken essence
- Vegetable oil
- Cut the beef and add soy sauce, black pepper powder, and 13-spices into a bowl.
- Cut the bamboo shoots into small pieces.
- Put vegetable oil into the wok.
- Put garlic and ginger after the oil hot.
- Put beef, and add bamboo shoot after beef well done.
- Add water.
- Add chicken essence and salt.
