Week 7: Scrambled Egg

Recipe Name: Scrambled Egg

This recipe was an original recipe (not from a cookbook). The ingredients and steps are listed below.

Ingredients: Eggs (2), Lunch Meat, Peas, Avocado (half), Salt, Pepper, Soy Sauce, Cooking Oil.

Steps:
1) Crack 2 eggs and beat eggs in a bowl. Add salt, soy sauce, and pepper for taste.
2) Dice some lunch meat and sautee some peas.

3) Add the beaten eggs into a heated pan with cooking oil and stir for 3 minutes.
4) Add in lunch meat and peas. Stir fry for another 3 minutes or until cooked.

5) Cut one avocado into two halves. Use one half and cut it into slices. (Use the other half for other dishes or store it).
6) Place the scrambled eggs and the sliced avocado onto a plate.

Incorporation of technique:
This dish uses egg as the primary ingredient, which is regarded as a good source of protein. The addition of other ingredients such as lunch meat, peas, and avocado enhances the taste and visual appeal of the dish.

Reflection:
This is another simple dish that I could make every day for a quick meal. All ingredients for this dish can be obtained easily in a grocery store. In addition, some ingredients (like eggs and peas) are already in my pantry, which helps speed up the preparation. The entire process took slightly longer than 20 minutes. This dish is very versatile as many different things can be added to the scrambled egg such as cucumber and ground beef. This dish can even be placed in a tortilla to make a great breakfast burrito. As the semester goes on and hits the point where homework and exams are piling up, simple dishes like this or the one from last week can really help in terms of saving time and money.
